Resumen:
Achieve the goal of profitability has been the major challenge faced by managers, mainly because external and internal factors have restricted the performance of the production system. In this sense the approach of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) presents alternatives that can contribute to the achievement of this goal by identifying and exploiting the restrictions in this business environment in order to achieve the best performance of the restriction and the entire production system. The great demand of mobile driven by increased construction, changes in lifestyle of the population, the cultural aspect and cycle spare parts, aroused the interest of the researcher to analyze a manufacturing company in this sector. The aim of this study focuses on analyzing the productive activities of the company CG tubular furniture (fictitious) to the Theory of Constraints. Regarding methods and techniques used, we performed a descriptive and qualitative, through semi-structured interviews, constituted from a literature review on the topic in question and a case study. The results showed that the analysis in the light of the theory of constraints allows the constraints arising from production bottlenecks, where the company is studying the main capacity constraints are found in industry for cutting and packaging. Thus, it became evident through this, that the said company may adopt the principles of TOC restrictive to manage resources in order to improve the performance of the plant.
