Abstract:
The theory of economic action has received continuous attention from economic sociology. How to improve one's understanding of economic behavior? According to the concept of economic sociology developed by Steiner (2006), this issue arose through the intersection of economics with sociology, where economic sociology considers economic theory incomplete because it deviates from other social sciences. The present work aimed to describe the trajectory of the producer and the conditions under which he developed the economic activity of cheese production. Based on the oral history method in its life trajectory mode, the research was inspired by the assumptions of Economic Sociology to highlight the context, motives, circumstances and social relations that accompanied the development of the producer's economic activity. The results demonstrated the importance that these factors played for the economic emancipation of the producer and how they can be used to explain the functioning of the markets, whose dynamics cannot be attributed exclusively to purely economic interests, but to a set of social factors. in which merchant relations are immersed.
