Abstract:
The conceptual application of competencies management in Human Resource Management
organizations aim to cause improvements in the performance of the employees of an
organization and therefore bring efficiency to the process, as it focuses and tries to develop a
set of knowledge, skills and attitudes that determine the performance of individuals in its
functions. In order to encourage and regulate the development of servers and federal public
organizations, the Brazilian government introduced the Decree 5.707/2006, instituting the
National Policy Staff Development (PNDP) seeking to regulate actions of development and
training in order to develop individual and institutional capabilities of its servers for efficient
achievement of institutional goals. Therefore, verify that training activities destined for
technical-administrative servers of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) are
delineated on the basis of competencies management, as it is proposed in the National Staff
Development Policy (PNDP). This descriptive and qualitative study used as tools for data
collection an analysis of institutional documents of the university and a semi-structured
interview applied with the responsible for training activities at UFCG. Was evidenced after
analysis that a training system and competency management at UFCG, is not yet made for
complete and in line with the theoretical concepcts of this form of management, meantime a
few aspects are in contrary to the guidelines of the PNDP.
