Abstract:
Despite the growth of the female workforce, they still do not have the same
opportunities and identities in comparison with men. The affirmative actions provided
promotion practices for women and minorities in order to diminish the historical
prejudice existing in organizations. Therefore, this study has as objective to analyze the
perception of the woman about the opportunities for growth, the ability to assume
leadership roles and equality. The research has nature descriptive quantitative data were
collected through a questionnaire applied to women employees of firms in four
segments: industry, construction, clothing and telemarketing. Regarding the results,
these guide for a better perception of women in these segments compared with each
other and viewing evidence of barriers that overhanging the growth and development of
women in organizations. After the analyzes of the results, according to the Tukey test, it
was found that the women of the four segments have similar characteristics in relation
to the perceptions obtained. However, there was a greater concordance in the sense that
there are greater opportunities for growth and development, and were most divergent in
relation to female leadership and equality present in organization.
