This paper has as main goal analyze the performance of the Association of Breeders of Goats and Sheep Coxixola (ACCOCOX) in the Municipality of Coxixola-PB, in partnership with the Municipal Government and its contributions for Local Development. The research included the study of the actions performed by ACCOCOX during the production process goat milk in Coxixola, the results of the production among the years 2010 and 2013, as well as the resources invested by the Municipal Admostration in such activity in the same period. As basement were presented the basic concepts relating to the Third Sector, Local Development, Social Capital and Associativism; notions about the structure and performance of the ACCOCOX; and the analysis of the actions taken in this partnership. Within this context, it was possible to make a comparison of investments with the production in the same period. The data from 2010 show that before the increase in resources invested in the production there was an increase in milk production and an expansion of the income of the families involved in this production process. This is due to the planning done by the board of ACCOCOX and the funds invested by the Municipal Government. Overall, the results demonstrate an efficient implementation of these resources. Thus we can say that the Third Sector can be an important vector in range of Local Development providing employment and income generation, especially for the rural population.
