This work had the pretension to analyze the educational history of Cajazeiras- PB from the Catholic Teachers‟ speech, aiming to understand these people‟s social role in the educational formation of the region and rewrite the official history trying to identify the “silences” of the story that has been told and deconstruct the conformed “truth”. Such an objective starts from a restlessness about how the history of this city is told. Cajazeiras, located in the sertão of Paraíba, is well known for its educational value. Back in the history, we can notice educators‟ great contributions from Catholic Church, among them, the main and considerated the city founder: Padre Rolim. However, we cannot put aside other people‟s existence who also provided their contributions. For this reason, the work is based on sources such as Burke (2005), Vidal (2005) and Sharpe (1992), that bring contributions about writing history, also Sousa (2018); Leitão (2000); Cunha (2000); Pires (1991), among others, that wrote about the City history of Cajazeiras. Therefore, we used qualitative approach and exploratory, descriptive research, with semistructured interview as data collect instrument, we interviewed two Catholic teachers from the region. The study made the educational history of the city recounting possible, starting from the teachers‟ memories, which brought new facts arising their particular realities with this region education and new perspectives about the history.
