Abstract:
This research has the objective of analyzing the logistical activities developed on the recycling reverse channel of the Campina PET enterprise which acts on the market
revaluing and transforming the post-consumer PET material through two production lines - one for flake, and the other for plumbing pipes. The analised areas are, more specifically, the supply conditions, the recycling process and the conditions of product distribution of the company. The methodology applied for the development of the research is classified as descriptive and exploratory, including the qualitative analysis of the data collected via semi-structured interviews with the owner of the company, following the steps of the model of PET bottle recycling of ABIPET, besides the document review on the sector, as well as the PET bottle recycling activity. The results indicate that the reverse channel that the company belongs to presents difficulties in the supply activities, because of the possible lack of input as well as the lack of partnerships with suppliers that could guarantee the regular supply for the company. Regarding the mechanical recycling process, a limitation observed is related to the fact that machine suppliers do not give support or monitor the installation and maintenance of machinery. Concerning the distribution activities, the difficulty is related to the negative stigma concerning the recycled product and the pressure for quality and low price.
