Abstract:
The survey is a tool that does reflect the different dimensions of reality constructing multiple knowledge about the environment in which we live. Given that little is worked or not worked in schools in the semiarid micro Cariri Western Paraiba. Thus, this paper aims to ascertain the views of the Brazilian semiarid region, through the conception of the students of the School Ildefonso Anselmo da Silva of the city of Amparo - PB - (School Field), highlighting the conception Semiarid the process of analyzing the characteristics through the concept that students have the 7th year of the Semiarid and its relation to the context in which it is inserted. Thus, for this research was conducted in the first phase, a literature review on the Semiarid and its relation to contextual education. In the second phase was conducted through field research that took place at the School Ildefonso Anselmo da Silva of the city of Amparo - PB in the classroom of 7th year. As a result, there - that the challenges include not only the lack of knowledge of most students, but also a matter of history, ideological and cultural, in which the semiarid region has always been a victim of prejudice being placed as inferior to other regions, to solve this problem must involve study and mobilization by the political, social and economic conditions of the whole society's Brazilian semiarid region.
