Abstract:
Although many organizations still consider it as a cost, Training, Education and Development
(TD & E) has grown the idea that corporate investment in education can contribute to the
competitive advantage of organizations. In this sense, the impact of training on the job is an
important variable that measures the effects of instructional action in terms of consequences
of the use of the skills acquired in the workplace. Thus, this study aims to describe the impact
on the job training, from the perspective of self-assessment of the employees of the franchise
O Boticário in Campina Grande - PB. A descriptive case study was conducted, based on the
Integrated Model for Assessment of Training Impact at Work - IMPACT developed by Abbad
(1999). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 29 employees in 05 stores of
local franchise and conducting semi-structured interviews with the managers of the
organization. The results show that the training methodology and Image held by the company
with its employees has contributed, in the perception of the participants in this instructional
event, for better performance of their activities, as the speed, accuracy, quality of service,
teamwork, increase self-confidence and motivation at work, becoming in a favorable context
for the application of knowledge, skills and attitudes (KSAs) learned. Other variables that
may be related to the perceived impact of the training on the job, such as organizational
support, climate and working conditions could be investigated in future research.
