Abstract:
This research had as general objective to know how was the formation of teachers in the municipality of Cajazeiras - PB in the decades of 70 and 80 of the twentieth century. Methodologically, it is a research anchored in the phenomenological method, from the perspective of Prodanov and Freitas (2013). Life history is used as a source in Abrahão (2004) approach. It is based on the theoretical assumptions of the following authors: Gadotti (1995), Saviani (2009), Nóvoa (1992), Aranha (2006), Ghiraldelli Jr. (1994), among others. The work allowed to know the trajectory of education in the decades delimited and the means used for teaching-learning, the development of education, despite the difficulties of access to information and materials. Teachers, then students, present important facts to understand the process of teacher training in the municipality of Cajazeiras. Interviews and analysis of teacher materials formed in the 1970s and 1980s, from the twentieth century present facts that are still present in the classroom today. The research still refers to the feminization reported in the work and so present in the present day, the influence of the woman as teacher in front of the family and the students. The reports show that teaching was achieved through many challenges, including social, economic and gender issues.
