A cantoria na cidade de Aurora, CE. Memória e tradição(1960 - 2016).

Abstract

This research problematizes the singing (suddenly) in the city of Aurora - CE (1960-2016) from the sixties to the present, showing how the singer has been maintaining as cultural practice in front of the new musical genres and the new technologies of communication. In this sense, this research investigates the singing from the perspective of cultural history, because it is inserted in this context, it is marked by the tradition and memory of a people. For the reporting of this this work, was used the Oral History, based on interviews with singers of the city that performed the singing, highlighting important and specific aspects of this culture. In the interviews we tried to understand how the singing developed in the city in question, the modalities practiced, the challenges faced by the singers. The singing is a hallmark of the culture of the aurorence city that has been promoted by the tradition of local singers, being passed from father to son.
