Resumo:
Considering the policies conducted by the Third Sector as a set of guidelines and procedures involving the government, society and the market, and that this sector is increasingly relevant in the social context in our country and the world, presents itself as an alternative to solve some social problems. This paper aims at analyzing the conditions in which it was deployed to the Joint Cooperative Agricultural Irrigators of Sumé (CAMIS). We sought to clarify the reasons for the rise, fall and reopening of CAMIS, as well as the views of its members on destinations and importance of this entity to perform its activities. This study is classified as descriptive and exploratory, with literature review. Was done through qualitative analysis, through a questionnaire. The results show the positive impact that produced in the activities of the Cooperative Cooperative and the City of Sumé - PB. However, the dependence of the colonists by a single source of water resources and years of drought followed stagnated production and with it the only source of funds of the Cooperative, causing the closure of its activities. We conclude that the Cooperative, was of fundamental importance to the development of the Irrigation Sumé, its settlers and Sumé as engine development, social development, making it necessary to diversify the supply of water resources, administrative and professional agreements with UFCG / CDSA, Campus Sumé, and mutual cooperation with the municipal administrators, if necessary making future studies.
