Resumo:
The present research was realized in the Elementary and High School Professor José Gonçalves de Queiroz, located in the city of Sumé-PB, in the region of Cariri, in Paraíba, where the PIBID/SOCIOLOGY Subproject acts since the year of 2010 in partnership with the Federal University from Campina Grande (FUCG), Center for Sustainable Development of Semi-Arid (CSDA). The purpose of this research is to show the importance of PIBID for High School, seeking to understand whether it contributes to the students‟ learning and, consequently, to the consolidation of Sociology as a school discipline. The present study is about a qualitative approach with use of the content analysis technique, whose procedure for data collection was the questionnaire, which consists on 02 (two) choice questions and 12 (twelve) open questions. We have chosen to apply it only in the 3rd year classes, because of the fact that the students are already in the final stage of Basic Education and have already studied the discipline in the two previous years, besides knowing PIBID‟s proceeding for longer than the students from 1st and 2nd years. The data obtained in the research show us that the referred program contributes in a relevant way to the students‟ learning, standing out through cinema and literature, that present fundamental importance to the teaching-learning process. We have concluded, then, that this research has a paramount importance for the development of PIBID, because through it, the future teachers, along with the teacher of the discipline, may reflect on their in class practices, aiming to reassess and rework them. It is in this sense that we intend to contribute for the process of teaching and learning in the discipline of Sociology, mainly for the formation of Basic Education students.
