Résumé:
This paper discusses one of the major global issues, which is to find the final disposal of solid waste, when treated unevenly, and the lack of available land for allocation thereof and increasing volume caused by high consumption and lack of awareness by of the people. It can be seen that this factor makes it very present in the environment where hindering thus the proposal of sustainable development. However there remain no doubt that, to solve the major problem worldwide is a need for a strategic action of the government in power. However, the goal of this research is to perform an analysis on the management of municipal solid waste in the city of Sumé PB, according to the latest Sense population conducted in 2010 by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), it is estimated that currently sumeense population is of 16,060 inhabitants. It seeks through theoretical analysis on the subject, exposing the situation of the population as regards solid waste above the city, with its characteristics, as well as analysis, perception and actions of social actors involved in this process.The results indicate that the current model of solid waste management in the municipality under review, is not in accordance with Brazilian law, requiring urgent solutions to better manage solid waste in the county.
