Resumo:
The aim of this project was to develop and evaluate a didatic game about platyhelminthes worms, also know as flatworms. Flatworms are very important in science education, due to the fact that many species causes human diseases, as Schistosoma mansoni and Taenia sp. However, many doubts and difficults are showed by the students and science teachers when the subject is flatworms. In this context, didatic games can be extremely useful in the teaching-learning process, increasin students attention and interests to the class. The game, called “Plateljogo” was built with low cost and recyclable materials; and it has many questions about reproduction, species types, profilaxy and parasite diseases. The game was performed at a class in a public school at Sumé city, Paraiba State, Brazil. In the first time, an expositive class about Phylum Platyhelminthes was presented. After the didatic intervention, a questionary was applied to verify the efficiency of the game as a didatic tool. The students motivation was observed during all the class, and all of them liked to play the “Plateljogo” game. Most of the students (64%) achievied satisfactory scores. Results showed that the “Plateljogo” can improve the science classes, specially when the issue is flatworms.
