Resumen:
This paper discusses the relevance of sociology of education and the methods and content addressed by teachers regents. Our research was conducted in two schools Cariri Paraiba, one of the private school and the other from the state. Applied questionnaires with students of the 3rd year of high school of these schools, in order to get answers to the problems identified in our study with regard to thematic approaches and how students surveyed evaluate the teaching of this discipline. In addition to the questionnaires, also used as data collection, information obtained from observation of lessons in both schools and in the same classes mentioned. Still apply, questionnaire with teachers of Sociology of the two, in order to compare the responses of teachers, with which they were presented by the students. Our research follows a bias bibliographical and can also be classified as exploratory research. It was concluded that the teaching of sociology offered is good quality, and the process of teaching and learning is relevant, that is, students are learning and reflecting on themes and situations that will make them better citizens.
