Resumo:
This paper aims to present and reflect on the teaching of the discipline of sociology in high school in West Cariri of Paraíba, taking as reference the planning room teachers of Sociology at state schools of Paraíba and theoretical and methodological proposals of the Guidelines National Curriculum for high school. This research is characterized as a descriptive qualitative research because the data will be subjected to a comparative analysis to verify compatibility between the proposals of OCNS and the planning and development of teaching practices of the teachers. Will use data collected through desk research and technique of semi-structured interview. The main focus of this research is to emphasize the need for the discipline of sociology is taught by professionals who have appropriate education, ie, Social Science or Sociology. As a result of this research we can say that the discipline of sociology is still seen as a cross-discipline that can be taught by any professional, is also evident that some conceptions and teaching practices of teachers who do not have adequate training for teaching this discipline are not compatible with the proposals of the OCNS.
