Abstract:
Contemporary society has been facing a number of changes with regard to technological advances. The advent of the information society has contributed to a new social organization. The use of technological tools of information and communication has contributed to the development of new skills and perspectives to the various segments of society. In this sense, the use of technological resources has been relevant for holding a diversity of activities and contributed to a new form of interaction between individuals. Technology has always been present in the history of education, with the passage of time the presence of science in relation to teaching and learning has become more intense, causing changes in the school environment and established a new mediation between teacher, student and content taught. Sociology as a compulsory subject to series of secondary education is a recent phenomenon, after a long career discipline reached its institutionalization, the challenge faced by the discipline, after spending part of the official curriculum, would be the use of methodologies appropriate to the need of discipline. Being the sociology discipline in recent official curriculum technology emerges as a mechanism to be used in the classroom and brings new perspectives to the teaching process. The insertion of technologies in the school context has allowed their educators with perfecting these practices pedagogical and breakup with the barriers of the methods traditional, so present in teaching process. The study aimed to determine how important the integration of technological resources as learning strategy in teaching sociology at the Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio Inovador Senador José Gaudêncio, Serra Branca – PB and sought to answer whether the technological resources were being used in teaching Sociology in the School and if these technologies were contributed to the process of teaching and learning. For the preparation of this research we selected as the methodology an exploratory descriptive study with quantitative and qualitative approach, through the application of questionnaires to the students of the 1st and 3rd grade of high school and semi-structured interview to teacher of Sociology at the school mentioned. Through research we can see that the impact of the use of new technologies has provided changes in the educational environment as regards the construction of new teaching strategies, the study revealed that there is a diversity of resources available for the teaching of Sociology, which can contribute significantly to the discipline and the use of new resources has contributed to an improvement in student learning of the discipline.
