Résumé:
This study aimed to research aims to analyze the performance of the
NGO Centra e Vida Nordeste, city of Prata Paraiba in the focus of their
contribution to social and environmental development of the region and
consequence for education in local schools contextualized and sustainable use
caatinga. Therefore, we used questionnaires containing questions based on
proposed activities of the NGO, with rural producers, the population of the host
city and schools (students and teachers) in the municipality. Was applied 100
questionnaires, 40 were in rural areas and 60 in the town, following the same
range used by Community Health Agents. The results were tabulated and
analyzed in the form of graphs containing the percentage distribution for each
variable contained in the questionnaire. It was found that most users of the
NGO is female, in the majority aged between 24 and 34 years, 20% have
completed secondary school and 60% live in the headquarters city. Most
respondents already passed by the NGO in one form or another, and shows
good acceptance of the activities performed by this organization. The use of
caatinga by the people is diverse and shown to have some knowledge of the
most common species of this biome. Most people in rural NGO that seeks to fit
as a small farmer, and mostly less than 25 heads of animals. It is evident that
the activities of NGOs are focused on more urban than rural areas, possibly due
to its proximity to the seat of the municipality.
