Resumen:
The present work monographic titled racial prejudice: implications in the
process of teaching and learning of the child emphasizes the issue of racial
prejudice existing in the classroom and sought to identify the interest of
teachers in working with racial thematic, and analyze how they deal with
situations that involve racial prejudice in the classroom. Also discoursed some
considerations in relation the implementation of Law nº 10.639/03, which
amended Law of Directives and Bases of National Education n ° 9.349/96 and
thus became mandatory the Teaching of History and African and Afro-Brazilian
Culture in the curriculum of Brazilian Basic Education. The methodology was
based on qualitative research and the data collection occurred through the
application of a questionnaire with the teachers interviewees. In the theoretical
reference we use as authors: SOUSA (1983), CAVALLEIRO (2001, 2004,
2007), LOPES, (2007), LIMA (2005), among others.With the results of this
research, it became notorious the need for professional qualification for
educators interviewed forto work this thematic, despite somehave conscienceof
the need and relevance of this work in the classroom and perform some
practices that already contemplate.Therefore, it is considered of great value,
valorize the effort of educators to overcome possible obstacles that will arise
during the teaching-learning process, a process that is of paramount importance
for the formation of the being.
