Abstract:
The modality of the EJA (Youth and Adult Education) has particularities in relation to the
regular education of basic education. It has been a challenge to make the learner effective in
comprehension and textual production in the classroom. With this reality, it is necessary to
present a work proposal that develops strategies of reading and writing through theoretical
methodological principles and facilitate the comprehension and textual production of EJA
students. Facilitating the written production of an opinion article based on controversial topics
reported mainly in radio programs, newspapers and magazines texts is one of the main
objectives, as well as the reading and writing strategy of this work. Rewriting or paraphrasing
good texts, transforming one genre into another, writing an opinion article based on spoken or
written news, collectively planning a text are proposals that the teacher can successfully develop
in EJA rooms. Our intention is to make the student a good reader, and with the ability to read,
effective in writing, transforming him into a citizen prepared to act in the labor market and in
social life.
