Abstract:
We know that identity is process, and through the relationships we have established with the other, which influences in this construction. So, with this study we return our gaze to the construction of ethnic identity. For this, we seek to examine the practices developed by teacher of Elementary School I contribute to the construction of the identity of the black kids. For their achievement, we lean on authors as Gomes (2002); Cavalleiro (2007); Silva (2005); Romão (2001); Silva (1995); Oliva (2003), among others. As for the methodology, our research is a field study, with emphasis on the quantitative perspective in terms of quality, and took place from the application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions to 09 (nine) tutors from 04 (four) public schools in the rural town of Sousa/PB. As a result, we realized we still urge the discussion in schools on ethnics and racial diversity, as well as the training of teachers to better work with the theme, so that we have incursions into pedagogical practices in positive identity constructs in the school environments.
