Resumo:
Over the years the industrial activities intensified and along with them the environmental degradations. The industries seeking economic growth, however, used so excessive natural resources available as well as the waste generated in the production process of these were released to the environment without proper disposal. Due to the awareness of society and market requirements, organizations felt pressured to adopt environmental management models in their administrative processes and productive. Among the environmental management models, particularized to Cleaner Production (CP). Therefore, this study aimed to diagnose aspects of cleaner production used in the production process of a shoe factory, to achieve this objective this research was the theoretical model proposed by Cleaner Production CNTL (2003). To accomplish this we used descriptive research using the case study method. The data collected through semi-structured interviews were established through the vision of a partner-focused business owners, identifying waste and impacts, and company initiatives based on CP. We conclude that the company is in an intermediate level of Cleaner Production for use in their procedures technologies that assist the implementation of the CP as well as the fact that their waste has an appropriate final destination.
