Resumo:
Understanding the culture of an organization allows to know the values, beliefs and basic assumptions that guide the way to perform their activities, with key factor for effectiveness and efficiency. In public security institutions, sometimes other organizations in the field of action, linked to different federal entities, is who provide training for its members and could influence their cultures. Thus, this study aims to analyze the presence and influence of the military culture in two Municipal Civil Guard units operating performance, from the viewpoint of perception of servers. Regarding the methodological procedures, is characterized as descriptive and exploratory, in the form of a multiple case study. As data collection instrument was used questionnaires with multiple choice questions, statements in Likert scale and open-ended questions. The analysis of the data, is characterized as quantitative and qualitative. The survey results show that there is a high presence of military values in the Civil Guards investigated included in culture through the process of its creation and training of your servers and perpetuate by military officers. As for the influence on the performance of the activities, there are differences between the institutions, in which Campina Grande servers express support to the presence of these values, believing that assist in providing the service, while in Bayeux, the members attribute any operational inefficiencies to values Military implanted therein, and the presence managers from corporate databases with the military.
