Abstract:
The present work has as it’s theme Inclusive Education in Brazil: the challenges to be overcome and was carried out through a bibliographical research based on the following authors: Campbell (2009), Ramos (2010), Carvalho (2004) ,Romero (2006) as well Mantoan (2003 and 2006).The general objective is to identify the barriers encountered for the implementation of the brazilian special education proposal in the perspective of inclusion in the present time. And, as specific objectives, we highlight: to present a historical retrospective of the initiatives focused on inclusive education; Conceptualize the proposal of inclusive education based on legal documents; Understand the limitations in the literature for the realization of the Brazilian inclusive proposal. The present study justifies the understanding that there has been an advance in Brazilian education in order to accommodate differences, especially in the case of people with special educational needs, but these changes are not enough to guarantee the inclusion and learning of these Students. Through the knowledge of these facts we can build new inclusion practices, these being based on public policies that can guarantee a quality education.
