Resumo:
This work has as objective to analyze in which form teacher's pedagogical
practice and his/her orientations for textual production teaching has influenced on the
lexical choices made by his/her students as authors of their own texts. We focused our
attention on composition classes (realized) in a first-year of high school group located
in Joao Pessoa-PB. Taking as basis the Applied Linguistics and Discourse Analysis
Theories, we observed that the students presented problems while choosing the
lexicon in their compositions because they present problems on the linguistic register
and semantics. As the students' development keep a close relationship with the
teaching practice adopted by the teacher, we attribute the students' difficulties in
relation to lexical choice to the teacher's lack of consideration while observing the
conditions of production of written texts, conceiving these texts as a product closed in
themselves. Therefore the artificiality and simulation of teaching-learning process
distanced the students from learning the dialogical character of writing, its uses and
social functions.
