Abstract:
The actual market environment has become everyday more competitive and
intransigent among the organizations that compose the market. In order to obtain success
and increase, companies that pursue to overcome their own limitations, are using a large
part of their time in planning strategies, programming and control so that such companies
can become more and more efficient concerning their activities.
Within this context, the concepts about planning and control proposed by
SCHMENNER fit very well. In such concepts the planning is a mechanism which might be
established beforehand to serve as guide when a decision-making is needed; whereas the
controls are mechanisms established together with the service process in order to determine
whether what is happening is or is not in accordance with what was panned.
In this context the research had as main objective to identify how they are managed
the company's operations Quick Comet, from a case study that used a methodology through
participant observation, where the survey identified some problems such as: Lack of
planning prior to dispatch, Disability in the control of information in the system, failed
planning of activities by operators, etc. that occur in daily operation of the company Quick
Comet Logistics and Transport, in Campina Grande – PB, and seek to establish some ideas
and suggestions in planning, control and planning, to reduce these problems and reduce
operational costs of labor, cost of fleet, reduce the level of faults / failures of the loads, and
increase the level of satisfaction of customer and performance in the information provided
to them.
