Résumé:
Of warlike origin, Logistics, which used to be only synonymous with transportation, today is considered as an unfolding of business management whose activities focused on the flow of products, both within and outside the organization. Over the years logistics has been developing, becoming increasingly important for companies in a competitive market. This happened, through the advance of the world trade, factor that generated a new service, the so-called logistics operators. In order to help logistics, operational research mechanisms were developed, using mathematical modeling, operational research produces more accurate logistic responses to problems. As an example of these tools is the network programming, which among its developments, provides the mathematical modeling tool transport, which among its functions, helps in the construction of the total cost of transportation. In this sense, this work aims to apply the transportation model that allows to minimize the total cost of transportation in the Company José João Transportes in relation to the services provided to the distributor Cavalcante and Farias in the State of Paraíba. To this end, studies were carried out, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative. Developed through a case study, carried out in the company José João Transportes. Using on-site research, interview and partial analysis of some documents. The analysis of these occurred through the application of the transport model subsidized by the solver tool. As results we have the correct distribution of the quantities of product to be taken from the distributors for each consumer, respecting the demands of each of the customers, as well as the capacity of supply. In addition, there was a definition of the routes and the percentage that each of them influences the total amount of freight.
