Resumen:
This study consists of a survey of three companies in the footwear industry of Campina
Grande- PB. The main objective of the research was to identify the reverse logistics activities
carried out at these companies, checking new opportunities for development of reverse
channels for processing of items post- sale or post-consumer. Regarding the methodology
adopted was held in a descriptive mode of study and a case of intentional non-probabilistic
sample , defined by accessibility was used . The data obtained was done qualitatively based
on the theoretical model of Leite (2009). The results obtained allow us to describe the
logistics management of the companies studied and identify their reverse logistics activities
for the treatment of products returned to business and waste generated in their production
cycle stages . Undertakings remanufacturing activities and component replacement products
to meet consumer protection regulations and develop activities of reverse reuse some waste in
the production process and other economic activity , within and outside the recycling and safe
disposal company with purpose of reducing environmental impacts and achieve better
financial results . The main difficulty in expanding reverse activities is related to the fact that
the volume of waste generated not economically justified to structure a reverse channel.
Benefits such as reduced costs for raw materials and other inputs , reducing environmental
impacts and minimize the risks to public health through proper waste disposal were described
by responsible companies surveyed , confirming theoretical assumptions regarding the
potential gains from conducting activities reverse logistics.
