Resumen:
The competence of the administrator is being increasingly discussed and used as a
qualifying character in the organizational environment due to its high degree of
representativeness in the contribution of a competitive firm. The aim of this study is to
perform a comparative analysis between the academic perspective and the perspective
of the current market on a theme that features a growing trend in this scenario. The
methodology used was a field survey with descriptive nature. Data collection was
conducted through a questionnaire of qualitative and quantitative nature, which enabled
a more detailed interpretation of this theme. After collecting data, the results were
organized and explained through tables and charts. It was concluded that the basic most
cited skills and competences were: recognize and define problems, communication
skills, ability to think strategically and ability to acquire new knowledge. All of them
are in accordance with the resolution of MEC, which is necessary for performance of a
manager in job market's present scenario, provided, improved and adapted to the
development of each environment.
