Résumé:
This study aims to investigate project activity as a pedagogical practice in basic
education and Design, aiming to propose reflections about possible potentialities that could be generated by specifics characteristics of Design, which could contribute to the application of this resource in schools. The method used in this research presents a qualitative approach with descriptive purposes, where bibliographic research and field research of the ex-post facto kind were used as methodological procedures, through multiple case studies with teachers of basic education in the city of Campina Great that applies or have already applied the project as a pedagogical practice. The results showed that there are theoretical similarities on the practice of project in both contexts investigated, but a further research on the development of projects in the local context showed that they are distant from the theoretical basis of education and also design. About the Design, it is considerate an experienced field on researches about the object of this study and it was observed that some of its particular characteristics can generate
skills and competences in those involved, importan t for basic education in the XXI century. Therefore, it is considered through the context of this embryonic research that the Design has specifics characteristics that can help and potentiate the practice of projects in basic education in the local context.
