Abstract:
The objective of this study is to analyze the process of internationalization of Signove Tecnologia S/A. The theoretical foundation is a discussion of the major classical and contemporary approaches to the subject, explained through topics such as the process of internationalization of technology-based companies originating in emerging countries. Based on the literature and the purpose of the study, chose a qualitative research, outlining by means of a case study in Signove Tecnologia S/A. Data collection was primarily through three semi-structured interviews with three members of the company-focus of the study, as well as by document analysis from productions made by the company itself. Data analysis was performed by means of the establishment of categories and thematic content analysis. The survey results indicated that the main motivation that led the company to internationalization was the sector of activity (EBT) which the company operates, and especially the type of product and service that develops, for its innovation and the demand of advanced market. Related to modes of entry of Signove into the international market, it was found that happened through export service, with Finland being the first foreign market where the company has entered. Finally, it was found that the main activity that the company performs abroad is Research & Development, while the main modes of international business performed by the company are service export and technology licensing; but also stands out the sales revenue of the company abroad, which surpasses 80% in the last three years.
