Résumé:
Cleaner production is an environmental management tool that seeks to minimize the impacts of productive activities through measures and interventions in the entire production process. Considering the reality of the cachaça production process, this study aims to investigate the use of cleaner production techniques to reduce waste in the handmade production process of Cachaça Triunfoin Areia –PB Township. According to the methodology applied, the research classify itself as case study, of descriptive character, whose research instrument was developed based on the model of PLM of the National council of clean technologies- NCCT (2007), the data were collected through interviews semi structured applies with enterprising, the chemical engineer and the company ecologist and direct observation carried out by means of visits to the enterprise. The collected data were treated by means of qualitative analysis. The results found that the company applies good techniques for reduction of waste produced, for greater emphasis on the practices contained in Level 2-Internal and External Recycling, followed by the Level-3 practices Biogenic Cycles, and in last one were the level 1- Source Reduction practices, thus there is no way to avoid the generation of waste in the production process of cachaça. Therefore, the company seeks alternatives to reuse and recycling of generated waste, as in the case of sugar cane bagasse, its largest volume waste and which is used for various functions, reducing the impact of the activity.
