Resumo:
This monographic study on "Care and Education for teachers (as) and monitors (as) the
municipal nursery schools in Cajazeiras - PB", had as target 40 teachers / instructors five
kindergartens municipal public network Cajazeiras. It aimed to, in general, seize and analyze
how teachers / instructors understand the Care and Education in day care and, specifically, so
know the steps that make up the work of the teacher / monitor Creche, identify pedagogical
practices involve Care and Educate and see if there is dissociation between Care and Educate
the educational process of creches. To support this argument, it was used as a theoretical basis
the contribution of the following authors: Pedrosa (2012), Garanhani, (2010), Freire (2006),
Soares (2011), Kramer (2005), Craidy and Kaercher, (2001) among others to discuss this
theme. The approach used in this study was: field research; semistructured interview with the
management of kindergartens; sociodemographic questionnaire, the Free Association Test
words and semistructured interviews, consisting of five questions, held with teachers and
monitors of kindergartens. Given the research, it can be concluded that the care and education
are inseparable and important processes for child development. These processes are essential
to the realization of a conscious and committed practice with the welfare and growth of
children. It should be noted that there is still, in the minds of monitors and teachers, a
decoupling of Care and Education in early childhood education, so we can see a need to
expand the studies in relation to this issue, so that education professionals children better
understand the relationship between these two processes.
