Abstract:
The aim of this work is understand how important is the reading and writing process
in the begging of school years to develop the students‟ abilities in order to show the
student‟s school improvement significance in alphabetization. The present research
has the main goal to investigate how the teachers‟ methods in public schools in
Cajazeiras City–PB are helping boys and girls in school-age in learning process. With
this purpose, it was performed a bibliographic collecting facts which it was considered
some authors publications. For instance: Soares (1998 e 2013), Cagliari (2007),
Ferreiro (1995 e 1996), Ferreiro e Teberosky (1999), Freire (2006), Carvalho (2015)
and some legal documents regarding Brazilian education: LDB (1996), BNCC (2017)
e o PNAIC (2017). Following this, a field research was accomplished using a
qualitative approach with two teachers, one from the First Grade and the other from
Second Grade in two public schools one is a State School and the other is Municipal
in Cajazeiras City-PB, in order to comprehend how the teachers in public school
organize themselves to guidance the students in the learning process. The teachers
have participated in an interview connected with the subject we discussed. They
expressed their ideas, plans and actions in alphabetization process, they highlighted
the value of this stage. The teachers were watched giving class in effort to compare
the thinking and the practice. The results point out that there is so much to do in the
learning process, and the students are not being learning how to write and read
according to the actual law which shows one student should be able to read and
write until the end of Second Grade of Elementary School.
