Resumo:
Education of young and adult is a learning modality that covers individuals who did not
have opportunity to access and continue their studies at the regular age and is an
instrument for education and lifelong learning, and the EJA is covered by the Law
9394/96, and in accordance with the Federal Constitution, which ensures the gratuity of
this modality. During the supervised internship, there was an interest in finding out what
challenge’s teachers and students of EJA face in teaching science. Thus, this study
aimed to analyze the challenges and perspectives of science education in the modality of
Youth and Adult Education of the State School of Primary Education in the
Municipality of Nova Floresta-PB. In this way, we tried to verify the teaching practices
and difficulties encountered by students and teachers in learning and teaching sciences,
in 6th to 9th grade classes of the EJA. For the accomplishment of the research was used
the field and documentary study, with quantitative and qualitative approach with the use
of semi-structured questionnaire. In this way, we can conclude that the EJA is
fundamental in the socialization of the subjects, adding elements and values that lead
them to emancipation and the affirmation of their cultural identity. The teacher should
be a facilitator in the process of emancipation of these individuals, giving them the
opportunity to understand that only education can transform the individual into a critical
being.
