Résumé:
Adolescence is a time of various social, emotional, bodily and cognitive
transformations, as well as the period of human development in which most
young people begin their sexual lives. Due to an earlier sexual initiation coupled
with the lack of information, taboos or even the fear of assuming it, there has
been an increase in the chances of young people contracting STD / AIDS. The
study was developed to analyze the sexual behavior of adolescents between
the ages of 14 and 18 years of high school, as well as their knowledge about
STDs and their prevention. To carry out this analysis, an individual physical
questionnaire was applied between students of a public school about sexually
transmitted diseases in a general way and their sexual practices in recent
months. In total, 192 students met the pre-established inclusion criteria and
answered the questionnaires, being 65 first-year, 59 second and 68 third-year
students. The research was considered mixed in view of its qualitative and
quantitative characteristics. The results showed that 69.8% of adolescents
reported having had some type of sexual intercourse, be it anal, oral and / or
vaginal. Regarding sexual practices, it has been observed that the male gender
is the one who most makes the use of the condom in sexual relations. Most
teens only had one sexual partner in their entire lives. It was found that
adolescents were aware of the definition of STDs, their prevention methods,
signs and symptoms. 95.8% of students cited AIDS as the most known disease.
Students attributed the internet as the main source of information about STDs.
According to the data obtained in the research, there must be a change in the
sexual education of schools, more activities are implemented to facilitate the
knowledge of the students, because some information is still presented in the
wrong way, for this, it is necessary that teachers of science and biology are able
to address certain subjects in the classroom.
