Resumen:
The present study aims to understand the relations between Media and Politics in the
elections mayorof the city of Cajazeiras in the year 2012, learning how and / or to
what extent, media resources fostered the conditions of possibility of clashes,
alliances, correlations of Forces, strategies and tactics of the campaign in those
elections. Thus, the central concern is to undertake a reflection on the role of the
media in politics, through discourse analysis, with sources like the JornalGazeta do
Alto Piranhas and the website Diário do Sertão, taking the mediatic discourse as a
space of power And elaboration of speech. The research is part of the New Political
History field, which dates back to the end of the 20th century, when politics gained
new contours and came to be seen related to power, such as clashes, games and
correlations of forces, among other reasons, due to the need to Contribute and bring
new problematizations to the field of research on Cajazeiras policy.
