Resumo:
The present work has as object of study the Social Pedagogy, more specifically the
performance of the pedagogue in CRAS in Fortaleza - CE. The research has as problem: What
actions developed by the social pedagogue in CRAS? We will also explain the knowledge
needed to act in this space. The general objective is to get to know the work of the social
educator and the knowledge required to work at the Reference and Social Assistance Center
(CRAS) in Fortaleza-CE. Specific objectives: To characterize the Social Pedagogy as a field
of professional activity of the pedagogue; Identify the activities developed by the pedagogue
in CRAS; To point out the necessary pedagogical knowledge in this field and to identify the
profile of the social pedagogue of CRAS. For methodological purposes, this was constituted
in three stages, namely: bibliographical survey, field research and analysis of the data
collected. Subject of the research: a pedagogue who works at CRAS. Instrument of data
collection: systematic observation and semi-structured interview. Qualitative approach.
Results: the research showed that Social Pedagogy is a branch of Pedagogy in the current
context. It is characterized as a science whose purpose is to analyze and study the problems
present in society. In CRAS, the pedagogue is responsible for giving the instructions, for the
planning and plan of the activities, reports of the activities and analysis of the situations of the
public attended by the institution. Being this professional the leader of the coexistence
service, thus, coordinates all activities. The pedagogue needs to be supported theoretically by
some knowledge related to his area. He is characterized as a competent professional that has a
sensitive and differentiated look at the social problems present in the community served by
this institution.
