Research about Didactic Book has been developed to understand its effectiveness in the Teaching-Learning process. This work, in particular, seeks to investigate how the Field Book of the Collection Novo Girassol: Field knowledge and practices is being used in the classroom by 4 teachers (subjects of the research), in the initial grades, from the 1st to the 4th grade, at Lili Queiroga Elementary and Middle School, located in the city of Aparecida-Paraíba, Intermediate Geographical Region of Sousa-Cajazeiras. When studying aspects about the Didactic Book, it is sought to discuss the PNLD (National Book and Teaching Material Program) – Field within the paradigms of the Public Policy of the Field Education, thus, developing results and bringing new elements that, later, could become objects of study for other researches. The research is a case study, having the Lili Queiroga school as study site, therefore, it is characterized by being a qualitative research. In order this study, we carried out research on bibliographical sources, observation of the locus of the research and the classes given in order to understand the use of the book in the classroom. As a data collection instrument, it was necessary to prepare and apply a questionnaire to obtain information about the school involving its general context. The survey began in September and lasted until the middle of December of 2017.
