Résumé:
This research study aim to plan, execute and evaluate a teaching experience in
environmental education, about eletronic waste, with emphasis in the proper disposal
of batteries with the students of the high school EJA in the class 3rd "A" of the school
José Rolderick de Oliveira, Nova Floresta-PB. Electronic waste comes from the
disposal of electronic materials. It is known by quantity of heavy metals in its
composition, and for this reason, when disposed of inappropriately, they cause a series
of impacts on the environment and human health. Considering the relevance of this
subject, it is necessary to involve the school in the development of activities focused
on the problem of electronic waste. The teaching project aims to present and discuss
with students the appropriate ways of handling and discarding of those materials. The
didactic sequence was organized in three stages inspired by the didactics of historical critical pedagogy. The aim was to understand the social relevence of content through
a questionnaire about the relationship of students with electronic waste; followed by
the orientation of solid wastes management through an expositive class where was
presented the main concepts related to the theme; finally, a campaign of collection and
disposal of batteries was promoted in the school. As a result of the work, there was an
active participation of the students in all the stages. The subject caught attention. The
didactic structure helped in participation. It is concluded, therefore, that the problem of
electronic waste is a socially relevant issue and must be worked in schools as a theme
of environmental education.
