Resumo:
Since the industrial process, to the present days, there have been several changes in
technology, in various branches of society, and this change was expressed also in t education.
The school inserted in this process, has been affected by the acceleration of knowledge,
through the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). It is necessary to
recognize that the information arrives faster than ever, and that the connection between people
has never been so strong. Faced with this great transformation, it is investigated how the
teachers of two schools in the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraiba, make use of ICTs,
what is the importance attributed by the teachers to the technological resources in the teaching
and learning process of Science Teaching, what are the resources available for their lectures,
and verify the teachers proposals to enhance the use of technology in the teaching of science.
As research theoretical and methodologic basis, there’s OSBORNE, HANNESSY, 2003. That
expresses the insertion of ICTs in the school routine to develop critical and creative thinking
in the student's learning. The ICTs develop and intensify interdisciplinarity; help their
students establish connections between their knowledge and the real world; contribute
positively to the development of scientific literature LIMA, 2007. among other authors
express the motivation, attractive innovation and opportunity. Our research approach is
quantitative and qualitative, in field, and has utilized a questionnaire as an instrument of data
collection. The data was analyzed through analysis of content BARDIN, 1977. Some results
points to the great importance that is given by the professors of Science, as the breaking of
barriers between teacher and students, making both more affective and communicative,
through the resource of virtual environments. To enhance the use of technology in the
teaching of Science, some teachers point among other suggestions the necessity of
improvement of disciplines on technology resources during graduation; bigger number of
ICTs in schools. The ICTs have come to add in science teaching, through innovation,
allowing the teacher to effectively act as a mediator of knowledge.
