Resumo:
This work discusses the prayers and their practices of prayer and cures in the country region of São José de Piranhas, more precisely the rural community of Caldeirão, between the years 1984 and 2018. As an object of religious culture, we dialogue with the historiography of cultural history with emphasis on the authors Certeau (1982), Le Goff (1990), and Barros (2003), in addition to the specific studies on the Rezators Araújo (2011), Menezes (2016) and Duarte (2014). The main objective of the research was to verify because in times of relative supply of health services, the prayers still remain important characters in the culture and everyday life of the rural community of Caldeirão, São José de Piranhas-PB. In addition to the dialogue with historiography, our main methodology behaved the work with oral history in conducting a set of interviews with The Prayers Maria Rosa, Maria Alves Cardoso and Maria de Fátima Rosa. The interviews were conducted from a semi-structured questionnaire.
