Résumé:
With the advance of computational technology and the growth of society, the
dissemination of continuing education for professors via the Internet continues to
increase even more. In this context has appeared the Programa de Formagao
Continuada Midias na Educagao ("Continuing Education Program for Media in
Education," also known as the "Media Course in Education") available on the e-Prolnfo
platform. The current study analyzed the activities included in the Intermediate Cycle of
the Media Course in Education in order to achieve two objectives: (1) Identify the types
of literacy underlying the activity modules of the Intermediate Cycle of the Media
Course in Education, (2) Analyze the process of interchange between theory and
practice that informs the activities. It was a descriptive-interpretive study of a
qualitative matrix whose corpus consisted of the conjunction among 23 activities of the
Intermediate Cycle of the referenced course. The data, analyzed on the basis of
contemporary studies of literacy (cf. KLEIMAN.,1995; BARTON & HAMILTON, 2000;
LEA & STREET, 2007), of didactic transposition (cf. BORDET, 1985; BRONCKART &
GIGER, 1998), and of continuing education of professors (cf. TARDIF, 2002;
PIMENTA, 2002), indicate that three types of literacy underlie the activities: scholastic,
professional, and academic. Scholastic literacy is required in the activities that relate to
theoretical content about the media used in the activities; professional literacy is
solicited in the activities by the teaching acts (to practice, in the classroom,
experiences suggested by the activities) associated with the theoretical knowledge
studied in each module. Academic literacy is evidenced in the activities about written
text production of academic genres - projects and reports. We show that 17 of the
activities require the course-taker to mobilize both theoretical and practical knowledge
simultaneously, which is related to the purpose of the course that is, basically, the
education of professors, the activities of the the Intermediate Cycle of the Media
Course in Education posit themselves along the axis of learn-practice-learn.
