Abstract:
The paper called "the alphabetization and literacy process in deaf students" ha as general purpose the study of alphabetization and literacy process in deaf students in school. And as specific purpose to analyse by bibliographic research the record of deaf people inclusion process in school. Once that, it intends to understand that literacy and alphabetization are well connected practices and they intend to be taught in an effective way, playing the fundamental role of inserting the individual in the society, as teaching to read and write with literacy doctrines means teaching to read and write in the social practices context of reading and writing. On the other hand, we can observe by studies that public schools lack capable teachers and pedagogical team to assure deaf students development and learning who are in heterogeneous team and lack that the professionals involved in the education of this team come to know and consider the particularities of each learner to reach success in educational process. This paper has been accomplished by a bibliographic research using books, encyclopedia, CD-ROM, internet and magazines. Therefore the analysis allowed to conclude the school integration process for deaf people must be put in practice in every schools, because the sign language alphabetization (in Brazilian Portuguese Libras) is similar to the listener students', which one is used for writing and Libras alphabet acquisition. Thereby deaf students inclusion in school must happen as soon as possible, in Kindergarten.
