Resumo:
The National LGBT Integral Health Policy instituted in 2011 aims to reduce suffering, discrimination, inequality and prejudice in health institutions, thus favoring SUS equity, expanding access to health for LGBT and better preparing professionals. to meet this demand. Also trying to overcome discrimination and dehumanization in the SUS that is a challenge in the implementation of effective public policies aimed at LGBT, because health services still have workers who are influenced by a heteronormative pattern interfering with their actions in health services Objectives : Know the conception of Community Health Agents (CHA) on the National Policy for Integral Health LGBT; To verify the conception of the CHAs in relation to the needs of the LGBT population in the municipality of Cuité-PB; Identify the difficulties and potentialities of CHAs regarding care for the LGBT population. Method: Qualitative study conducted with 15 community health agents in September 2018, semi-structured interview. The collected material was analyzed by content analysis, Bardin method. Results: Three categories were obtained through this research. I- A policy in the dark: The CHA's understanding of the LGBT National Comprehensive Health Policy; II- The needs and rights hidden in the closet; III- Something wrong is not right when going out to consult. Final Considerations: Given this, the lack of professional qualification and initiative of CHWs directly affects LGBT access and demand for services.
