This study had the following questioning as a study problem: What is the Pedagogy course
importance to the teachers training in the teachers perception who work in kindergarten in
Cajazeiras-PB? The general objective from this work is understanding the meaning of the
Pedagogy course to work as a kindergarten teacher, in Cajazeiras city. This way we have as
specific objects: To discuss the trajectory of Teacher Training for kindergarten in Brazil, to
investigate what is the meaning of the teachers training to work in kindergarten and consider
about the meaning of the Pedagogy course in the teachers training to work in kindergarten. To
accomplish this work, four interviews were made with effective teachers of daycare centers
belonging to the public school network of Cajazeiras. The interview was organized in a script
with 17 questions, three observations were also made in the classroom of the respective
interviewees. For the data analysis was considered the contextualization of the research subject,
the school that was locus to the research, the classes observed, the observation and the teachers
training: The interviewed teachers‟ perception. As a result this work points that the
interviewees have the understanding about the importance of the Pedagogy course, which is
essential for those who wishes to act in kindergarten, and the relevance that continued education
has for their teaching practice, becoming clear that for the ones who already work, beyond the
Pedagogy course it is necessary a continued study that include the specificities to attend children
between 0 and 5 years old.
