Resumo:
This research is part of the memories of the fairgrounds to problematize the free fair of the city of Cajazeiras from the 1970s onwards, understanding the presence of this popular trade space as a form of cultural resistance against the modernization of the present forms of commerce in the city Decades. Analyzing the fair through testimonials from the old fairgrounds, as well as through ethnographic and photographic observation, this research seeks to reflect on the fair of Cajazeiras when analyzing its history, its presence in downtown, its commercial and cultural importance. Starting in the 1970s and 1980s and making a current analysis of the fair through the dialogue between Cultural History and the ethnographic perspective, this research intends to perceive how the fair is nowadays. In this way, we seek to understand the possible spatial, economic and cultural transformations that took place at the fair, as well as its forms of resistance at the Cajazeiras fair to continue to be configured as a space of social relations and collective memory.
