Lei Maria da Penha: falas, riscos e traços que revelam novos discursos sobre violência contra a mulher.

Abstract

This paper analyzes how the Maria da Penha Law becomes worked as a historical document, in a first moment, showing how entities that work the theme of violence in Cajazeiras/Paraíba do a discursive elaboration of the law and, in a second moment, as this law is represented in another historical field that are the cartoons that, using of humor, irony and satire, make a representation, sometimes positively or negatively on the law. Even with the implementation of policies and actions for the combating of violence against women, it is still noticeable and becomes worrying how scary is the number of cases of women who are constantly abused in our society. It is a phenomenon that does not choose class, race, age and education. They are women who are abused mainly in the family, especially by their partners, which makes the issue a social and political problem considering home as space of quiet and safe for the whole family, and, therefore, immune to violence, but which turns out to be a place of tension and conflict. This way, it is important to reflect on the importance of gender relations for historical and social understanding and, thus, to understand the location of this violence against women in daily life, in reality. These issues underlie this work when looking systematize, in the city of Cajazeiras, Paraíba, data and information on violence against women and how this issue is elaborated in the institutional, social plane, seeking to understand what changes take place in the development of the discourse of violence from testimonies and charges interpretations. Speeches marking a tension and conflict position and that, in Foucault's perspective, bring the connections of the power relations that are present in gender relations, mark subject positions, establishing regimes of truth and legitimate practices and procedures.
