Mulheres no poder: a participação feminina na política de Bonito de Santa Fé - PB.

Abstract

The assumption of this study is to reflect on the female participation in the political life of the city of Bonito de Santa Fe-PB. The choice of this theme is due to the fact of its visibility and importance in the contemporary scenario, in which Women are an important element. It is a qualitative research, which has as sources documents of the Antonio Dias de Lima City Hall and the Electoral Registry, as well as the archive of the city of Bonito de Santa Fe (minutes, applications, application records and oral sources). In order to base the research we use the conceptions of, Michele Perrot (1988),(2008), Rachel Soihet (1997), (1998), (2007) Lucia Avelar (2001), among others, on the history of women in politics. This research has social relevance regarding the historiographical shortage in the municipality about this subject, therefore, this text will contribute significantly to glimpse the panorama of the feminine power in the politics of this city. It is also, It is notorious to say that this field of research needs to gain space in academia.
